Almost every girl starts hitting the gym to shred those extra inches to flaunt that flat tummy on their big day. We know the struggle is definitely real as being a flawless bride is not an easy task. In all that wedding madness, you have to look your stylish best as well as fit on your big day. However, if you don’t have enough time to hit the gym, then you can go for some easy and smart hacks to look slimmer on your wedding day. Just follow them and ace your bridal look like a diva!

Solid Colours instead of prints

Solid colours have the ability to enhance your figure like nothing else does. We know prints are very much alluring but they fail to give your body the needed definition and shape. Plus they don’t accentuate your high points. So, go for solid colours as will make you slimmer & taller at the same time.

Go for a darker colour for the blouse

This is one of the foolproof tricks that will surely take off a few kilos from your body. If you’re top-heavy, then a dark coloured blouse will not only give definition to your curves but also make you look thinner and crisp. For example, you can go for a slightly darker coloured blouse in maroon or marsala with a tomato red lehenga on your wedding. This way you’ll be able to ace a slimmer look on your wedding.

Flowy and breezy fabrics

Fabric plays a vital role in the fitting of a lehenga. Light and flowy fabrics such as crepes, chiffon & georgettes tend to make you look thinner. They easily cover up all the problem areas that will make look slimmer. Brides should avoid fabrics such as brocades, raw silks as well as organza, as they make you look broader.

Right kind of jewellery

Trust us, even your jewellery plays a major role in making you look slimmer. Firstly, select your bridal jewellery as per your face shape as well as the neckline of your blouse. In case you’re heavier on the face, avoid elaborate matha pattis as well as huge tikkas. Instead, go for angular patterns. Also, ditch necklaces that stick to your neck and go for rani haars, Ladas or chain-like necklaces.

Lesser or lighter embroidery

Don’t go for too much embroidery and embellishments for your bridal lehenga. You don’t need to go overboard with the detailing. Go for delicate embroideries and embellishments that will add grace to your look.

Show minimal skin

You have to be smart in this case! So play with your blouse design in a manner that it covers up your problem areas. If you’re not confident in baring your midriff, then get some sheer fabric or a skin-coloured net added to that area to minimize skin show.

Heels to the rescue!

Even a good pair of heels will make you look slimmer in your bridal lehenga. They will not only create an illusion of making you look taller but slimmer at the same time. Choose a pair which is comfortable and easy to walk in, such as a pair of block heels or wedges.

Right hairstyle and makeup

Lastly, to top it all off, go for a makeup as well as the hairdo that gives a slimming effect to your face. Keep it all basic with some good contouring beaming highlighter to give your face a sharp look. Similarly, for your bridal hair, opt for a hairdo that is simple yet elegant, like an open hairdo with soft waves to give it some bounce or a loose updo.
