Weddings are an expensive affair. It requires lots of planning to see what you are going to spend and how. Planning a wedding is both “Expensive” and “stressful”, but they don’t have to be if things are done properly. The planning process starts with finalizing the venue and not just one, multiple venues for various ceremonies then the bride or groom’s attire everything will cost a lot more than expected if proper budgeting is not done. So, we listed down some common budgeting mistakes that should be avoided in order to plan your wedding in the most perfect and cost-efficient way.

Unplanned Allocation of Funds

This is the most common mistake done while budgeting. It is always advised to start with the basic breakdown of the cost you are expecting to pay to specific wedding vendors. In this way, you can allot a specific percentage of the amount for every expense at the wedding. Also, allot 5 per cent of the budget for a “miscellaneous” fund. Trust us, you will thank us later for this. This allocation will really help to get you through the whole planning process smoothly. Though the costs may differ as you planned, still you will be way sorted.

Not Keeping a Track of Expenditures

After allocating the budget, you really need to keep a track of all the expenditures. The smartest way to do it is by putting all the wedding money in one separate account, this will help you track the withdrawals easily. Also, use your credit card as it will help you take the advantage of mileage, rewards or even cashback.

Making no Efforts in Saving

We know it’s the wedding where you want to make the best of arrangements to make that celebration memorable. But, you should know where to spend and where to save as you just can’t go on spending everywhere. Start with prioritizing the expenditures like venue, catering, photographer etc to be on top of the list whilst cake, favours and invites at the bottom of the list. Plus, try taking extras as well as complementary services from the vendors as much as you can. This will surely help you to save some bucks!
